We have a race against Michigan in Iowa (makes tons of sense) and we got to the highway about 3 minutes from the Boathouse before we had to pull over. Off to a great start!

43. Slides
The rowing team got some new slides today which allow the ergs to move together (kinda like in the boat). Everyone wants to give 'em a try!

40. Inspiration is Everywhere
Walking home from the river and I see this guy casually painting the cityscape with digs like you'd find in a professional art studio. It's casual.

Oops..
This is the first time since college started I let my insulin get so slow the pump couldn't even register that there was still insulin in it. I was too tired to change the low res alarm last night and I did not realize I used so much insulin just sleeping...

39. Gopher Hockey Season is Back
Goldy is seriously the best mascot ever. He is always so excited and he always has so much energy plus he's just so much fun. He spins his head, spins his body, and spins his tail (the last two pictured above). The first hockey game of the season was so much fun I am so excited for the rest of the season.

38. Active Learning Assignment
For my GIANT anthropology lecture they have us do these ALAs randomly to see who comes to lecture. Usually they're just a couple in-class questions that take 5 minutes. Not this one...

The leaves have changed and are now falling. It won't be long until these branches are blanketed in white snow!

36. Wild Turkeys
These little guys like to hang out around campus. They don't really pay much attention to traffic; pedestrian, bicycle, or vehicle.

St. Paul 5K
Today was the Homecoming 5k in St. Paul. The pigs and I were hanging out all morning as I directed traffic through the farmlands smack-dab in the middle of the St. Paul campus. It was incredible actually how we turned a corner and went from being on a college campus to being on a farm.

Forever Gold
Today was the Homecoming football game against Purdue (or rather, Purdon't...)! The Gophers were behind at the half but came back to win 39-38. This was the first game that my friends and I were sitting in the right section to under the Ski-U-Mah flag!

34. Changing Spaces
Today for my art class we violated space rules. We started by walking to the bridge from the art building at a variety of paces (switching from zombie slow to sprinting fast) and then we crossed the bridge as a line that spanned the entire bridge. Once across we broke into smaller groups and each of the smaller groups created their own spaces (one group applauded people, one group napped in the middle of the walkway, one group pointed at nothing, my group surrounded people walking like the Secret Service). These two unsuspecting guys were walking passed our small group space violations. The reactions of people as we were each doing these things was priceless.

32. Walker Art Center's Radical Presence
I went to see the show Radical Presence at the Walker Art Center for my art theory class. The gallery was interesting. There were some very bizarre pieces and some very stimulating pieces; I enjoyed it very much.

Hohmies
At the Head of the Rock, we raced in the Ohme (hence we called ourselves the "Hohmes"). We placed second in our race, behind the other Minnesota 8!

Goldy was hanging out with the Unicycle Club on the mall today. He climbed up on the unicycle and proceeded to ride around. Our Great Mascot is multi-talented.

28. Pop in and Save!
These few days have been the balloon sale at the bookstore. Each balloon has a coupon inside for anywhere from 20% to 80% off. This balloon was abandoned so Sarah drew a llama on it and put it on display in the back of supplies.

25. What Are the Odds?
Since we didn't have practice today, the novices decided to take over the local Applebee's for half-apps. A lot of the night was spent playing a game called What are the Odds? and now Nate has to jump in the river and Hans has to challenge a varsity rower to a push-up contest.

Head of the Miss
Today was the Head of the Mississippi regatta (the novice team's first!) and it was so much fun. Minnesota owned every race we competed in :)

24. DIY Bird Populator
For my art class today we repopulated the world with extinct or endangered birds. My group was in charge of finding a suitable environment for the black inca hummingbird.

23. Diversity
One of the student groups was advertising for their club today and they were walking around all dressed up. When I first saw them, I didn't realizing they were promoting anything; I thought they were just dressed like that for kicks and giggles.

22. Multitasking
My roommate brought her cereal into the bathroom with her so she could eat and do her hair at the same time.
